摘要: An overview of the properties of various natural and synthetic fibre in the design of pure natural is composites is discussed. The combination of both natural or synthetic fibre based hybrid composites , bio based resins, various fabrication techniques, chemical and mechanical properties of fibres, the effect of chemical treatment and the influence of nano particles on the composite materials have been discussed Natural Fibers are becoming more popular and attractive to researchers, with satisfactory results, due to their availability, ease of availability, ease of fabrication, cost effectiveness, Biodegradable nature and being environment friendly Hybrid composites made up of two different natural fibres under the same matrix material are more popular than a combination of natural and synthetic Recent studies relevant to natural fibre hybrid composites have stated that, due to their biodegradability and the strength of individual fibres causing an impact on mechanical properties, flame retardants and moisture absorption, natural fibres need an additional treatment like chemical treatment for the fibres to overcome those drawbacks and to enhance their better properties The result of chemical treatment on composite material properties such as thermal, mechanical and moisture properties was studied Researchers found that the positive influence on the overall strength by placing the filler materials (Nanoparticles) in the composite materials Hybrid composites are one of the fields in Polymer Science that are attracting consideration for various light weight applications in a wide range of industries such as automobile, construction, shipping, aviation, sports equipment, electr8, hardware and biomedical sectors. | |
简介: Dr.N.Gokarneshan was born in 1964. He obtained his PhD in textile technology from Anna University, Chennai, India in 2008. He has academic experience spanning over 25 years and industrial experience spanning over 10 years. He has worked in a number of premier acadenuc institutions and held various positions such professor, head of department, dean and principal. He is presently working as Professor and head at the department of Fashion design and arts in the Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, Chennai, India. He has made many contributions in his field. He has authored 15 books, published over 200 papers in various leading journals, contributed many book chapters and presented papers in conferences. His recognitions include editorial board membership and peer reviewer in journals. Besides, he has also been organizing committee member in a number of conferences. He is a recipient of a number of awards and recognitions for his outstanding contributions in field. He has organized many seminars, workshops and symposiums. He has been a resource person in a number of technical webinars. He has been a resource person for faculty development programs. He has taught at undergraduate and post graduate levels in various academic institutions. His noteworthy contributions include paper publications in top grade SCI, SCOPUS and WEB OF SCIENCE journals, books and book chapters with prestigious publishers like WILEY, ELSEVIER, SPRINGER NATURE, SAGE, TAYLOR AND FRANCIS. His areas of interest include technical textiles, nano technology in textiles, fabric formation and textile chemical processing. |
