Biography:

He graduated with specialization in textile technology at the department of applied chemistry, University of Karachi, and received Ph.D. in textile special finishing/ printing effects from University of Manchester, Manchester, UK. He is Fellow of The Textile Institute, Manchester, United Kingdom. He is the 3rd most cited author [with 435 citations of 1 articles] in Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A: Physical Metallurgy and Materials Science (2008) (clarivate impact factor- 2.3), a journal of American Society of Metal International and TMS (The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society); and principal author of 12th most cited paper in Cellulose (2021) [with 114 citations of an article], Clarivate impact factor 2.9 (2023). He is 1st most cited author in University of Management and Technology (2008) [with 435 citations of 1 articles], and 4th most cited paper in University of Management and Technology (lifetime achievement) [with 435 citations of an article]. More importantly, all his papers are focused on the topics having direct impact on environment and indigenous development of Pakistani industry and economy. He is the principal author with 1500 + citations in all of his peer- reviewed research publications, ranging over 40, and presented research at several international conferences. Invited to meet FOUR NOBEL LAUREATE in Celebrity Symposium, May 2010, organized by Wiley- VCH and Chemical Society of France. He received the Best Research Paper Award by HEC, Pakistan, and the Research Productivity Award, PSF, Pakistan. He is currently professor at Asian Institute of Fashion Design, Iqra University, Main Campus, Karachi.

His current research interests are in the processing of textiles, circular economy, sustainable processing, textile up-cycling and re-cycling, clay finishing effects; flame retardancy, cellulose/cotton cross-linking.
